Procedure Overview

Accelerated Orthodontic Surgery is a technique sensitive procedure that is completed to help decrease the total time in braces. Specialized tools such as a peizotome are used to non-invasively perform the procedure.

A thin layer of bone is removed around the teeth – mainly in the front. Grafting of bone is completed, and the tissue reapproximated again.

By stimulating the bone, the teeth can be moved at an accelerated rate, while at the same time adding new bone to create a better foundation for the teeth. The procedure is commonly completed with sedation or general anesthesia.

There is extensive data that suggests the total time in braces can be reduced by several months after completing this surgery. Talk to your orthodontist and dentist about Wilckodontics to discuss if you are a candidate.
