A temporary anchorage device, or TAD, is a titanium anchor that is placed in the bone to assist your orthodontist with more efficient tooth movement. Most TAD placements are completed by your orthodontist or dentist, but in cases where a larger vector or long-term stability is required, you may be referred to see your oral surgeon.
Most of the time, a TAD can be placed in a short appointment with local anesthesia. We also have options for sedation and even general anesthesia to make you more comfortable.
