Dr. Staibano was born and raised in Stoney Creek, Ontario, where he attended Cardinal Newman Catholic Secondary School. He then proceeded to earn his Bachelor of Health Sciences degree at McMaster University in 2010. From there, he pursued his interest in dentistry, culminating in earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from University of Toronto in 2014. Even from an early point in his undergraduate dental education, Dr. Staibano had his interest piqued by Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as a career specialty. This led him to complete a one-year post-graduate internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Toronto, who then accepted him into their esteemed surgical program. He completed his four-year residency in June 2019, where he received comprehensive experience and training in dentoalveolar surgery, benign and malignant pathologies of the head and neck, maxillofacial reconstruction and implant surgery, facial trauma, temporomandibular joint disorder treatment, orthognathic surgery, alveolar cleft management and provision of surgical anesthesia.
Dr. Staibano has a Masters of Science which he completed at the University of Toronto during his residency. He has personal interests in management of temporomandibular and myofascial pain disorders, implementation and integrating technology to clinical scenarios to improve precision and quality of care, and reconstruction of extensive maxillofacial defects and implant-based oral rehabilitation.
Currently, Dr. Staibano holds certifications in Advance Trauma Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. He also holds a certification for provision of Cone-Beam CT advanced imaging. He is a member of the Hamilton Academy of Dentistry and Burlington Dental Academy.
